“How are you, George?”

George’s consistent answer when asked, was, ” It’s the best day of my life! ” And he meant it. Each day is a gift. Season it with a good laugh (or many), and do the best you can.

My dad made me smile and laugh. As a little girl at the dinner table, he would get my brother and I laughing so hard at his silly jokes that milk would spew out of our mouths and noses making a mess! He would quickly disappear right when my mom would come to clear the dinner table! As I got older it sometimes involved pitchers of water sloshed all over. He loved practical jokes! My dad’s one-liners, some remembered from his Grandma Nonnie as a kid, were so funny! He was always ready for a laugh. Even in his last weeks, he was still texting jokes and funny pictures to his family and friends.

He found, along life’s journey, the benefits of natural remedies and the desire to help people on their journey toward health and healing. Many of the folk remedies learned in the years of missionary life in Costa Rica set him on what would be the season of healing that established Neurowaves. His apple cider vinegar “Elixir” is one of his daily health practices that I remember. Home-made kefir was another. He pickled veggies and quail eggs from the quail he raised and gave them as gifts to neighbors. This blog is in his honor. It is a place to share the pearls of wisdom for health and life that he learned along the way, and hopefully some good laughs!

It’s the Best Day of My Life” blog is also a place for me to remember the many reasons I have to smile and laugh, the many years that I had the privilege of having him close by, and all the kids, grandkids and great-grandkids that have a bit of him in their genius senses of humor! My hope is to be like him. God-honoring, loved  unconditionally, encouraged without condemnation. He was funny, a jokester, an entrepreneur, hopeful, and fearless. I want to carry on his many wonderful legacies until the day I join him in heaven.

“Three things will last forever-faith, hope, and love-and the greatest of these is love.”
Corinthians 13:13

“We were filled with laughter and we sang for joy. And the other nations said, “What amazing things the Lord has done for them.” Yes, the Lord has done amazing things for us! What joy!”
Psalms 126: 2-3

“A cheerful heart is good medicine…”
Proverbs 17:22

So, as George would say, “Have the best and oldest day of your life!”

Blessings,

Dolly
